One of the best Chinese restaurants so far I tried in dubai. Authentic Chinese food, good dining environment, clean, pocket friendly price, not too far from my apartment(homey is good, but toooooo far) visited a few times, still in love with it. View all feedback.
A must have if you love love love love love Chinese food as much as I do. This is by far one of the best I've had in Dubai and would highly recommend it. Prices are very reasonable as well. Like most restaurants, they do have their hits and misses, but definitely more hits! You need to know what to order, just like anywhere else. Gotta admit, the presentation could use some improvement but who cares if it’s going to taste good?! I would go to this restaurant up to a few times a week and sometimes order a whole Peking duck to myself because it IS THAT GOOD! Coming to this restaurant and not ordering their Peking duck is like coming to Dubai and you've not seen Burj Khalifa. That is how significant a dish it is to this restaurant. Other must haves are the spicy fried lamb (extremely spicy but worth it, even better if you appreciate eating the peppers as much as I do , spinach and century egg soup (for the adventurous , scallops with shrimps (really interesting textures , spicy home made tofu (i'm not sure if this is the name of the dish but there's this silky smooth tofu that is just oh so delicious! , squid stuffed okra (must have, everytime but it's not always available and last but not least, their extremely limited edition egg tarts (always preorder to avoid disappointment .
Follow me on instagram: HighExpecTASTEion Any time you find a restaurant that serves Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Shark Fin Soup (bit controversial) and Peking Duck, you can be sure that it is an authentic chinese restaurant. You might see some restaurants that claim to serve Peking duck, as I experienced in a certain 5* hotel, but let me tell you, it is not supposed to taste like KFC. For peking duck, it should have a crispy skin with a bit of fat between the skin and meat. This is one of those restaurants where the item might look plain on the menu but it is full of flavour and thats what chinese cooking is supposed to taste like. You won't find much oil on the plate, and certain you won't find dishes like Manchurian chicken here. For this reason I recommend you go with someone who is actually Chinese and they can recommend proper dishes for you. You know you are in the right place when you enter and see that the crowd is all Chinese. Try to save some room in your stomach for the desserts, they are quite excellent.
Fantastic Dim Sum, is only provided on Friday morning. Very authentic Cantonese or HongKong Dim Sum. Tasty! Yummy! And the portion is larger than normal in HongKong. Definitely will come again.
The best Chinese restaurant in Dubai they have a lot of varieties to make you confused. Things are authentic tasty as in China especially the stir fry.
This restaurant serves excellent, authentic Chinese-Chinese food…as opposed to Indo-Chinese food and/or Fusion-Chinese food. Styled in the same grand fashion as so many restaurants in mainland China, you’d be excused for thinking you were actually in China – in fact, for a minute I thought the girls at the front desk were going to ask me to show them my visa. My fellow foodie and I were the only non-Chinese in the restaurant throughout the time we were there. In keeping with what seems to be the norm of such restaurants in China, there are a number of private rooms upstairs which can be hired out for groups, romantic couples and paranoid individuals. Adding further to the general Asian ambiance is a wall made up of aquariums of fish, crab, lobsters and other creatures of the deep. Absolutely brilliant. On being seated you are presented with a large, super glossy menu (thankfully) full of pictures of the dozens of dishes on offer – most of which will be totally alien to you (as they were to me) – but all with little English subtitles no doubt courtesy of Google Translate – so keep the menu after you’ve ordered to amuse yourself with until your food arrives. It really is a hoot. You also have bowls of cold, cooked peanuts and tofu strips put on the table as complementary starters. The peanuts are amazing…and addictive. And there’s nothing else on the table – no salt, pepper, chilli sauce, soy sauce – nothing but chop sticks. Hmm. We were ultra conservative when ordering, sticking to the things we knew or recognised such as the stir-fried chilli chicken, stir-fried noodles with shredded potato (and something else which I can’t remember), and stir-fried baby spinach – and before anyone says anything yes, I realise everything was stir-fried. What can I say, we panicked a little. I leave adventure to when I have a Chinese companion who can help with the ordering…and communicating. Thankfully everything we ordered was simply fantastic and both of us ate heartily. Portion sizes are HUGE. We could comfortably have fed another two with the same amount of food and still have had some left over – thank goodness for take home parcels – waste not, want not my Gran always said. Service was a little confusing as the majority of the staff do not understand English nor does sign work beyond drinking from an imaginary glass – I want a drink, and writing in the air with an imaginary pen – bill please. So we had to wait for one of the Pilipino girls to show up to get what we wanted. This turned out to be a little bit of a challenge as the staff rushed about attending to the steady stream of Chinese tourists which an obvious contract kept bring in and taking out. But once they understood what we wanted everything was chop chop quick. Hey, but everyone understood us loud and clear once food was put on our table – Mmm means the same just about everywhere – with or without Google Translate.
