I've eaten here countless times for lunch and supper, I've never left disappointed. The fact that you can see the love the owners have for this place is just a bonus on top of all the amazing food they have to offer. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone who's looking for quailty made food. View all feedback.
What Tiffany Pal doesn't like about Alcan Smokehouse Ltd:
Do not waste your money here. Decided to try it while in town for a couple of days since it had such great reviews. I was very disappointed. I was with a group of 4, and not one person enjoyed the food. Nothing was cooked properly and it didn't seem like the food was cooked fresh to order, more like it was heated up for us. The blasted potato's were hard and over fried, the mashed potato were like glue and the pasta... View all feedback.
This was a complete mixed bag. The server was very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere (though it was interrupted by some guy pulling out his laptop and streaming Youtube videos at top volume next to us. We decided to order the all meat sampler; we love smoked meats and make them at home all the time. The wings were juicy and cooked properly; the rub was unusually sweet but still tasty. The smoked sausages were great. Very juicy and nice subtle flavour. The ribs were okay looks like we got the end and there was tons of cartilage. The brisket was awful reading other reviews it sounds like this is pretty common. It was rubbery and dry brisket is so simple to cook I really don't understand how this could happen. Maybe they reheat it or something. Avoid it at all costs. Smoked salmon was decent, I'm not a huge smoked salmon fan but my wife loved it. Chicken thigh was moist but maybe a little heavy on the rub. Seemed heavy on the coriander. The deep fried chicken skins were fantastic. Never head them before we were fighting over them by the end. The cheese dip was very tasty nice sharp cheeses. All in all, a little expensive but good food if you know what to order. We will probably try it again, might not be our first choice though.
Really nice. Mile 0 on the road to Alaska. Photos from Google pixel phone artbyjo

Oddly laid out with decor that is almost there but end up looking uncannily uncomfortable. Just doesn't feel right. Service is not quite up to par. Slow and unprofessional. Not unfriendly but in over their head. The beef brisket was uneatable. Hard as a hockey puck. One of the handful of meals I have ever sent back in my 50 years. Granted, it's hard to cook beef brisket, but don't sell it if you can't make it. Tortellini was ok.
Oh boyo boy... where to start. Service and bacon potato soup were excellent, and what earned the extra star. If you are a Smoked Meat Sandwich Purist, turn around immediately and RUN as fast as you can, it 's nothing short of blasphemous. Everything wrong about this sandwich; served on thick, heavy, toasted (or in my case, burnt) wheat-bread, smothered in some sort of mayonnaise-type dressing , topped with miserable amount of terribly dried-out chewy meat. Caesar salad was tiny, over-dressed and mostly croutons. Server was very pleasant, but I can think of many other things to do with $24... like light it on fire. Do yourself a favour: go down the street to grocery store, grab loaf of Rye bread, package of smoked meat, btl of mustard and sml jar of pickles for $10, and you 'll have dynamite sandwiches all week.
