What User doesn't like about Tropicana:
I came here for a family dinner with a group of 9...I wouldn't recommend for parties of that size. The food came out all at different times and the seating arrangement was not ideal. The food and wine was good though, with ample portions. I am vegetarian, and I ordered a greek salad which was tasty, very basic but loved the addition of grilled capsicum.I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or even perhaps a work... Very basic menu and average atmosphere.

Consistency is their key to a successful business And it shows in their service and food. The food is good cafe foods and it is consistently the same time after time. The service is quick, free wifi, tv's and good outer CBD location. The place is a constitution with the same people eating every day almost 365 days a year.
Tropicana is an institution it's customer range from the rich the poor and the in between. Originally it had the grunge look going for it but some years ago it turned into a modern hot spot. However it has always had quality at an affordable price. On a recent visit two of us each had a chicken schnitzel which came with salad and sides of mashed potato and honeyed carrots. The schnitzel was tender and tasty and comprised two largish pieces of meat. We could have had creamy mushroom sauce but declined. All this for $20.70 each. There are many cheaper dishes and a good variety. This is the place you eat when you don't feel like cooking.
The Tropicana has a steady clientele - the locals keep coming back because of the broad variety of food at very reasonable prices - and service is very good. Daily newspapers are available to read whilst enjoying a coffee or having a meal.
