I loved the atmosphere here! It's essentially a combination of Studio Ghibli EDM/upbeat music. There's a lot of Spirited Away references/wall art here so that is a lot of fun if you're a fan.We came during lunch and for lunch, you can essentially choose from 4 rice bowl options (1 being vegetarian) or a sushi combo option (where you pick 2 different rolls). What Jacqueline M doesn't like about Sushi De Handroll:
This place was a bust. Came here for the sushi mosaic we saw so many pictures of which they told us they don't serve anymore because they're understaffed and it takes too long to make. The $25 dinner deal with hand rolls seemed like a good deal, but sushi tasted fishy and had way too much seaweed which drowned out any actual flavor. The tuna tower was very good and the only redeeming thing about this place which is w... View all feedback.

Hidden in the center of the Hill is this wonderful sushi restaurant. We loved the sticky rice and sushi! Will definitely be back to try more
I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet! We've been going to sushi de handroll since my daughter was barely 2. She's now almost 6 and she requests to go to sushi de handroll every birthday. We love love love the people. They are the nicest people around and the food is 100. Yes, some of the high end sushi places are going to be a little better but you can't get a better family-friendly sushi place. We always get their omakase and they are so helpful with the kids! 10/10 recommend.
My husband and I come here almost weekly. The food is wonderful and the my omakase is probably one of the best deals in town on sushi. You get two appetizers and 5 hand rolls for roughly $25. The menu has a lot of variety and the hand rolls are fresh and delicious. I can 't recommend this place highly enough!
Sushi de Handroll was overall a great experience. Our server, Mai took our experience from good to great. My dinner partner and myself both partook in their omakase special which allowed us to economically try out the handrolls. We also tried the crispy rice sampler, the sparkling sake and their specialty cocktails. We were very pleased with the food and service, but the ambiance was a little lacking. I think they could benefit from a different layout and lower lighting, but that won't keep me from coming back.
