Came last night for dinner. As usual, the meat were soft and rich, very flavorful. Don?t have to drive to Austin for the BBQs. We got a great one here. I especially loved their sausage, best one I?ve had. Sides were good too, wished there was cream cornhere though. View all feedback.
What Barry Fitzgerald doesn't like about Pecan Lodge:
Went here based on the number of positive reviews. disappointed. Luckily we only spent $31. And change. Only good I can report was the nacho chips them self, red soda. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 View all feedback.
At a recent visit to dallas we were led to try pecan lodge. we thought what the hammer, texas bbq right! the first impression was a very long line that shortened the circumference of the escaping back to the entrance. I feel like the line moves very fast and eating is ready when they get a drink and table. tipp: After we set ourselves to eat, we discovered that they can order and sit outside? only one head up if you want to bypass the line. the bbq was good, and I think this is the kind of place where they could eat for consistent results again and again. I will not say that it has knocked off my sock, but the drawn black and brisket was to my opinion above average. some others in the group received less than cheap meat cuts, but the overall consensus was a solid b that I would say. deep ellum is a unique quarter without doubt! make them research and know their environment!
Good, but not worth the hype it gets. the fried rib and the Macn cheese were great, the brisket and the potato salad was good, and the beef jalapeno sausage was terrible (super dry). lower line, don't get out of the way. there are several other places in dallas that at least these good or better (hutchins, hard 8, terry blacks, cattleback).
Better than a dickeys or other average BBQ joints, but not in the top 5 in texas or DFW for me.
First time order through UE and had it delivered. I had been scoping this spot for several years via DDD and finally arrived in Texas to try it this week. Ordered the brisket and sausage with jalapeño. Brisket was fantastic and moist. Sausage was outstanding. My sides were coleslaw and Mac, both were also outstanding. Will go back before heading home to Pa.
Food was delicious! All BBQ is over priced in my opinion. It usually all tastes the same to me. Pecan lodge was a bit different. The flavors were a great surprise. I’d expect better seating options for the price range. I would not have a chair in this condition in my dining room. Everything else was great. Staff was super friendly and on point!
