What Abner Bruen doesn't like about Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery:
Visited with a business group for dinner on Saturday night 7/2017. Place was not clean and very, very noisy. Our group could barely hear each other to have a conversation. Restaurant did not handle large groups well, tables were pieced together, food came out like three different orders and we had to wait 10 minutes for last order and not enough staff. Food was average. Very disappointing. Use to love the place. View all feedback.
The breakfast is great here but the dinner was not so great!
We are pleased that the outdoor terrace has been rebuilt, but the in-house really needs new furniture and rebuild. these metal chairs are still so loud and the chair pads are completely worn out. they ran out of the daily special, the black lace, at 18:30 clock, and did not tell the waiter. they knew it was my birthday, but doing something special. the service was a bit inconspicuous.
After living in dfw for 14 years, my wife and I finally decided to eat at bread winners. for years we want to go, but have never decided to celebrate Valentine's Day early. we loved the ambiente and the old world charm of the building. it has a mix of new orleans meets boston feel to him. our server brad was very knowledgeable about the menu options. my wife had that hugging and wagging that they enjoyed! and I also: I had the scribble with spargel. Although the ribeye was tasteful as they would expect, it was the thinst ribeye I have ever seen! apparently they cut a normal steak in the half! did not definitiw what I expected for $26 but again, it had still good taste. I also had the birne and cardamom mule! it was beautiful and smooth! we finished the night with the chocolate-deduction cake for dessert.
