Peggy Sue is one of the better diners along Interstate 15 and the oldest. It has a lot of character and it shows. It is often busy and the food is what you expect from a place that makes its cake fresh. The classic diner culinary experience. I had the liver and onions and thought it was fair for the price. The service was good and thematically appropriate. A beautiful place in Yermo.
Peggy Sue's 50's Diner Yermo, California After visiting a few places on Route 66 California today, we decided to dine in Peggy Sue's 50's Diner in Yermo, California. We had a nice dinner with excellent service. The waitress did her best because the diner was pretty busy tonight and the diner was pretty full. She was polite and attentive and gave us a great service with a smile. We have dined here several times before and always had a great experience and some delicious dishes. I admit it's hard not to look around the nostalgic displays around the diner. Peggy Sue's also offers a great gift shop and has a beautiful pizza parlor. I haven't tried the pizza yet. Overall, this was another pleasant experience and will return when we are in the area.
Place has a very cozy old diner feeling, it. The staff is very welcoming, we sat right away. I had the French toast. It was delicious, the toast was a bit thicker than I would like, but still very good. Cookies are delicious, very soft. Gravy is a little heavy on pepper, but still good. The second picture is the chicken roasted steak and eggs. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the steak had a little acidic taste. The aftertaste was even more strange. It wasn't pleasant, my friend couldn't finish it. Food is good, nothing special, but I would definitely say that it is worth the place for setting and the cute gift shop they have connected.
OMG was a great place for all your nostalgic consideration. A magical place for children of all ages. Where you sit, enjoy the view. Love Elvis, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, The Blues Brothers, the place is happy days for real. The food was good and cheap, the staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I stopped for a quick bite and had the James Dean curly frits with brown engraving?. Fries were perfectly cooked, crispy outside and moist and delicate inside. The severity was not overwhelming and just related to the fries correctly without making them so tender. Everywhere I looked the dishes on the tables of the other people very tempting. I wanted to sit everywhere and eat everything.
Great service and loved the classic diner environment! I would like to give 5 stars because the service was great but because the quality of the chicken fried steak meat was just not good (tough, gritty) I?ll go with 4. The gravy was very good though! My husband enjoyed the blob but he didn?t eat half of it since the portions are huge! While the portions were huge, the bill was not. Check this place out for a cool 1950?s throwback!
