Celebrated my 30th birthday here with a group of 20+. Evie and the Castello di Borghese family went out of their way to make my party feel welcome and we all had an amazing time! They made me personalized menus and even bought out the dog to play. Out of all the wineries we went to that day in the North Fork, they were the most attentive and took their time to explain their company and wines. I wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you.
Last week we had a private tour with Gio, owner of the 2nd generation. It was the most informative about every tour I was on. Believe me, I was on many tours in California and Italy. Evie came to talk to us in the tasting room and gave us more information. We made our own cheese and cracker tasting. You've adjusted my tasting as I have allergies to red tanins. It was a highlight of our holiday (7 women agreed by NJ! . Pray Hurricane Henri doesn't beat her. They are a month away or earlier for the harvest of Pinot Noir grapes. Well done team!
I've been a member of her wine club for 10 years. I love this vineyard, because of the quality of wine and superior customer service. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's my first time I visit the North Fork.
Preparatory review: Bottom line: strongly apparently forgiven. Wine is pretty good. Gluten line: wine is gluten-free, crackers are not. Long line: took a while to get service. Could it be that we were dressed in training, like we were cycling here, or because it was half packed? I hope for the latter. Once we got service, everything went smooth. We tried their proposed sampling and found all the wines well made. Nothing crazy for our palate, but pleasant. Wouldn't really run back.
Came here one afternoon for a flight of wine and to buy some bottles. Their classic flight has two whites a rose and two reds. While overpriced at $30, it comes with pretzels that you don't have to purchase. I loved the Sauvignon Blanc and the Rose for the Bays! In the end bought bottles of those two and a couple of the Merlot Cab Sauvignons. The servers name is Mary and she make you feel quite welcomed and can explain the wines in detail. I would love to come back during the summer when music will be playing.
