Borghese Vineyard - Cutchogue

I always have a wonderful experience when I visit Borghese! The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is fantastic at taking care of their customers.

The wine was very good, and the Cabernet Franc was excellent. However, the tasting experience left something to be desired. I was not fond of the presentation, which featured cheap plastic cups inside a white plastic cup. This presentation felt out of place for an Italian theme—it just didn’t fit. The atmosphere was quite dark, and there was no display of Italian culture to enhance the experience. On a positive note, the staff were pleasant, but the building felt cold and uninviting.

I always have a delightful experience when I visit Borghese! The wine is excellent, and the staff does a fantastic job of looking after their customers.

I arrived at the restaurant to be greeted by a staff member who seemed eager to leave early. She expressed that she had been bored for the last two hours and had decided to close early, saying she would only stay if a serious buyer came along wanting a bottle. Unfortunately, that wasn't what I was looking for. I expected a tasting and a pleasant experience during business hours. If I had felt more welcomed and been able to sample the offerings, I might have even considered purchasing a bottle. Overall, the customer service was disappointing, and it’s disheartening to see customers overlooked during operating hours.

I absolutely loved my visit to this vineyard and highly recommend it! The staff there are incredibly friendly. We took a tour with the owner, Giovanni Borghese, who has such an incredible life story that he should really consider writing a book about it. We learned a lot about the wine-making process, and the grapes were stunning and almost ready for harvest! It looks like 2022 will be a fantastic year for wine.
