What Bob A doesn't like about Thai Culpeper Restaurant Bar:
I’m not sure where the positive reviews for this restaurant are coming from, as my experience was far from favorable. "Mediocre" would be the most generous way to describe it. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the peeling paint on the walls and the overall dingy atmosphere. The Thai food served here is, at best, Thai in name only. If you enjoy overcooked dishes and questionable meat sources, then you might a... View all feedback.

We order takeout from here once a week it's always delish! The garlic chicken stir fry drunken noodles are both delish! Quick delivery, very friendly, food is always hot!
My wife and I went to Thai Culpeper for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant is located in downtown Culpeper and parking spaces can be hard to find but we were lucky and found a spot on the street alongside the restaurant which is located in an old hotel. We arrived about 11:30 and the small restaurant was nearly empty. When we left about 30-45 minutes later, the place was packed. Our previous Thai restaurant experience has been in Florida and we really enjoy the two Thai restaurants we visit there. My wife ordered soft shell crab, one of her favorite dishes. She said it was excellent and as good as one of her favorite restaurants for soft shell crab that is located in Colonial Beach. I ordered Pad Thai, my usual order in a Thai restaurant. Usually I order chicken with the dish, but this time I ordered beef. As a result, the Pad Thai had a heavier taste to it than I'm used to. My mistake. Overall it was still very good but next time, it's back to the chicken version.
Usually I can make the 2 hr drive from D.C. To Charlottesville straight thru (I know, two whole hours without stopping, it's a gift) But one time I hit so much traffic, it got dark and long story short I ended up in Culpepper eating outstanding Thai food. Let me say that again. I ate outstanding Thai food in Culpepper. I'm not one of those D.C. Elitists but trust me, I legit did not expect that. I'm usually a drunken noodle kind of gal but the table next to me had pad see ew and I HAD to have some so I ordered that instead. Portions are HUGE-I can put away some Thai food and I still had enough for lunch the next day. Prices very reasonable. Service was outstanding. Found street parking right outside. Short trip easy on/off from 29.
The food here is absolutely fantastic EVERYTIME I go. The portions are great!! The only thing I would say is, you should only get it for lunch. You're getting the exact same meal for dinner but double the price. I do pay dinner price sometimes though cause its just so damn delicious!! hahaha :
