This place was recommended to me by my local host as a good example of local food, as I was in Mexico for work and didn't want to take any risks with the street food. Its in a good location, a 10-min walk from the historic centre opposite the top end of Alameda Central. Prices are not cheap for Mexico, but for probably for most visitors good value. What AXH doesn't like about Taqueria El Caifan:
We visited for a quick bite to eat right after we checked in at the Hilton. The place looked promising, only locals eating. The food was mediocre, the tacos were bland and they had no condiments at the bar and when asked did not offer to replenish the empty bowls. The Cuban torta was OK, carnitas so and so and the rest was to forget. View all feedback.
