This was the find of our short trip to Sydney, the decor was clean & bright but the food was at a reasonable price, covering the plate and very tasty. This is the place to go for a good feed. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Retreat Garden Bistro:
We've visited a few times over the last 18 months and have enjoyed some lovely meals. Our most recent visit was less than satisfactory. Surly waitstaff set the tone for the night. We ordered a variety of oysters for entree, one of which was the size of a fingernail that somehow passed kitchen muster. Sirloin was disguised as a minute steak, thin and chewy. The self-help bar service is cumbersome and time consuming. D... View all feedback.
Not welcome to families with children. Pub food. the whole place smells terrible and is in a bowling club. it's bad to say the least and I don't want to come back. I'm not sure the majority of the reviews is real.
Can be a bit loud, and the furniture is inconvenient, but if they are fed after delicious, freshly cooked Italian, this is the place to take the family or friends.
Unpretentious environment, friendly waiting staff, cheapest drinks for miles, oh and eating great quality and exceptional worth. her homemade gnocchi ragu is a triumphant. stuffed zucchini flowers, generous and tasty; pork special, a real winner. pasta and fish options also looked great,...and a long selection of blackboard specials. almost all under $25 and good dessert under $10 and vino at $4 a glass, so they can easily make a night of it here without waiting for pay-day!
Food very nice however host not very friendly. Just to get a quote she made us wait for her to finish her meal (lunchbreak) not our fault you told us to come at that time. Bit rude for first impression I think. people skills...required here. Chef (a keeper, hes awesome)
Excellent club foods, desserts made before spot and are fantastic. very cheap prices and easy to park.
