I went to this restaurant last week with my coworkers and was extremely disappointed. The service was terrible - the waitstaff couldn't remember our orders, there was no friendly interaction, and one of them even left a dirty spoon on my plate without noticing. We had our team dinner at this restaurant this week and it was a disappointment. We were asked to choose our menu before arriving, even though we were a party of 9 and there was only one other table occupied. The meal did not live up to our expectations. Three of our appetizers had to be returned twice before we received the correct food. None of the wines we selected were available, and when we inquired about the "circumcision" mentioned on the menu with the turkey meal, we were told that the chef did not offer that option. The desserts were also not impressive, and some of our group ended up going to Sainsbury's after dinner to find something satisfying. The waiter and chef's attitude towards us when we asked about the bill was extremely rude and arrogant. Overall, we were left feeling that there are better dining options in Croydon. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
I went to this restaurant last week with my coworkers and was extremely disappointed. The service was terrible - the waitstaff couldn't remember our orders, there was no friendly interaction, and one of them even left a dirty spoon on my plate without noticing. The food was subpar; the starter, despite its fancy name, turned out to be a small piece of smoked salmon and shrimp drowned in seafood sauce. The main course, a lamb steak, was overcooked and tough, with blood still visible. The waiter showed no remorse and tried to convince me that there was nothing wrong with my meal. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
After a long day at work, I was looking for a decent place in Croydon to unwind. Instead of the usual options on the high street like pubs, chain restaurants, or Indian food, I stumbled upon a unique and promising spot. Upon entering, I was impressed by the minimalistic decor, subtle backlights, and excellent menu. I wasn't sure if it was a set menu or daily specials, but I didn't care - the food was too good to pass up. We started with a decent house red and a variety of breads with olives in a garlic and white wine dressing. The starters were generous in size and beautifully prepared, setting the tone for a delicious meal. For the main course, we both opted for the chicken breast with lemon and breadcrumbs, served with a mint sauce, mashed potatoes, and portobello mushrooms. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was not overpowering. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and would definitely return whenever I'm in Croydon again.
This new restaurant looks beautiful and the front of the house service is good with drinks quickly sitting. the menu is simple and not as French as they might think. I had a nasty steak and it could have been fried. it was so thin. I cooked much more than I asked and served with obviously frozen pommes. the pudding was a cream caramel and it was terrible bitter caramel. my colleague had the salmon and the cheeseboard he said was in order. I also found the wee so much. le cassoulet is missing and this is not a replacement, scandalous!
