went here for the 2nd time with my girlfriend last night. really delicious and affordable tacos. the portion of chips used as a snack before them is the perfect size to not fill you up and finish your first round. this brings me into the drink selection, which is also pristine. i know a lot of people into tequila mezcal that would be pleasantly surprised by it. overall, this alongside the picture perfect service we g... What Richard Ford doesn't like about Lone Star Taco Bar Restaurant:
Went here years ago and had great food, but I’ve gone three times since then in search of that first time, and have not found it again. The food is decent but the portions are ridiculously small for the price, maybe get in two bites max per taco. Honestly I could eat in one bite if I wasn’t trying to feel like I’m not being duped. Tacos were pretty wet and messy but were pretty good. Carnitas pork taco and beef barbacoa were good, but the fundido chorizo taco was so much better that I wish I just got 3 of those. Would definitely recommend the chorizo taco to anyone.
I'm not one to give opinions, but I always order victory nachos, I love them, I usually always order them with barbecue, I decided to change to carnitas, they charged me an extra $4 for the protein, which I see as illogical because they only added a small portion, which the truth is not it's worth it

Lone Star Taco Bar in Allston has a great vibe, perfect for unwinding after work. I started with their Oaxacan Old Fashioned, a tasty twist on a classic drink. I absolutely enjoyed every sip. It was perfectly made. For food, I tried the beef birria taco, chilies con queso dip, and Mexican dog, which was my absolute favorite, though all was delicious! I love that Lone Star is affordable, has friendly staff, and the food hits the spot. Definitely recommend it for a casual and enjoyable evening out!
I came into this restaurant believing it was an authentic Hispanic place. Despite possibly having real Hispanic cooks, the menu was clearly American made and the flavours for that reason do not match what I would consider tex-mex. The menu was perfectly sized and staff pretty good, but seating and food quality itself were issues for me
