Small location with lots of outdoor seating. Unfortunately it was windy and cold so we had to eat inside which is very small but didnt take away from the food and atmosphere. The warm lobster roll was the best we have had. Tender, buttery and that sweetness that good lobster has. Clam chowder was really good as was the lobster bisque but the lobster roll is definitely the star of the show View all feedback.
What Mark Scott doesn't like about James Hook Co:
The people and the area/atmosphere were nothing short of perfect. The food, however, left something to be desired. We ordered the large lobster roll with butter, and it wasn't really anything special. While there wasn't anything wrong with the quality of ingredients, it was just pretty bland. Could have been an isolated experience, but this review is based on our experience View all feedback.
My lobester had too many shells !Clam Chowder was ok !
We got 6 lobsters, 3lbs of clams, and a few appetizers shipped across the country to Mammoth Lakes, CA. I will ABSOLUTELY do this again!! Every thing was fresh and even lasted an extra day in the fridge until we cooked it! I’m originally from Boston and crave lobstahs all the time… I am so happy a friend told me about them!
Delicious lobster rolls. Must try if you are in Boston for a few days.
The freshness of the lobster here is unbelievable. The shack is okay atmosphere wise and the servers are nice enough but the cold lobster here is outstanding
Came here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely spent some money, but I did not regret it. We had 2 extra large buttered lobster roll with 2 lb. 's of steamers to start. Also, we had their Frose (extra cold wine drink so delicious). They had some great options here. Lobster tanks with all sizes of lobster, a crab tank, fresh seafood counter, a good size menu, and a frozen seafood area. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I also bought a frozen king crab leg to go, and also do not regret that choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Parking: A little hard to find parking. They have a free lot behind it and near it, but mostly full.
