We were visiting Covington for a friend's funeral. After a long 6 hour drive from Houston we ate dinner at Don's. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. My husband and I split the catfish dinner and had some left over to take back to our hotel which we ate for lunch the next day. My Blood Orange Margarita was outstanding! Unpleasant experience from the very beginning. As soon as we walked in, we noticed a bad smell, reminiscent of sewer water, which was in the air for the whole meal. We sat down and received dirty silverware, slightly used napkins from the table next tous, and water that tasted like it had some kind of cleaning chemical taste. The menu has a diversity if offerings. There is something in the menu for everyone.

I wish I could remember our server's name, because she was just delightful. She always had a huge smile on her face and was very attentive. I don't know when we will visit the area again, but if we do we will definitely eat there again!
The service was excellent. Blackened redfish was tasty.
The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks fresh.
Overall good and I would visit again when in the area. We waiting a while for our food to come out. Many tables that came well after us got apps and food well before us and the waitress didn’t acknowledge the wait. I know staffing is still an issue but oh well. I was super excited they had fresh king cakes available for purchase.
