Russell's Barbecue - Countryside

My grandfather use to take my father to Russell's. Now I take my great grand son there. 5 generations. Best beef sandwich and ribs anywhere. Always pick up a jarBBQ sauce to go. Still a family affair.

I first went to Russell's in 1966. It was a go to place for Barbecue. It was as good as the Barbecue that I've had in Virginia, Missouri and Texas. They use to season and smoke the meat. The old owner sold it and the new owner has the sauce but it seams the new owner doesn't add seasoning and may not smoke the meat. I feel very disappointed with their bbq now

This saddens me. Used to be our go to place for good food when I was growing up. There was always a line. It wasn't southern bbq, but it was very good bbq beef. They've change that which wasn't broken.

I ordered to the ribs. They just were not good. They were dry and tasted old. It bc was expensive for what I got. I do not recommend Russel's.
