The new owner of the restaurant was incredibly friendly and had clearly made significant improvements in a short amount of time. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The pub also showcased local artwork, which was a nice added touch. We had a great lunch experience and are already looking forward to returning for a second visit. View all feedback.
What Jake Morgan doesn't like about At The Bathurst Arms:
very disappointing Sunday afternoon visit to family birthday. service very haphazard unconsistent, missed ordered items, wrong food drink brought to table, long delays for some dishes without forthcoming declaration. long delays in clearing plates, although the pub appeared quiet. some very casual and uninterested coworkers did not look like they wanted to be there. bad vegetarian choice in the rule, and court was ch... We stayed for two nights when attending a wedding near by, our bedrooms were lovely, very comfortable beds. Dinner was absolutely delicious and both mornings our breakfast was very tasty! Most importantly Simon and the team were incredibly welcoming and friendly… they made our stay!
Very inventive menu with tapas style dishes. Unfortunately not every dish hit the mark but the ones that did were delicious and all dishes were presented beautifully. The fish dishes such as the Gilt-Head Bream was cooked brilliantly but the meat dishes probably need a bit more seasoning and more depth of flavour to make them something more memorable. The menu has really good ideas and flavour combinations, probably just needs a bit of tweaking on the cooking. Very nice outside garden space by the river and tipi tent for outdoor dinning and drinks. They don't have heaters but they do offer thick blankets for the colder evenings. The service was good and friendly, one small mistake of not receiving the coffee I had ordered but that wasn't a big deal.
Warm and very welcoming, staff very friendly and the food was fantastic
Just needed to get away from the day to day and chill. Stumbled across the Bathurst Arms with a lucky google search. First impression, ‘wow,’ it’s big baby pink character rich building. Fair to say from the moment we walked through the door until the time we left, we had nothing other than an amazing time. Special thanks to Jasmine and every member of the team who all went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant and stress free as possible. Food was great, you’ve got to try the Korean sesame-fried chicken burger, Asian slaw, skin-on chips, was definitely my go to dish and never disappointed. In fact, every dish we tried was superb. Thanks Gareth you certainly know how to knock up some great food, Chef being the unsung hero operating behind closed doors but your food certainly spoke for itself and it was obvious that you are passionate about what you do. Our room was a good size, bed was really comfortable and was a great place to spend the night. Also fair to say the beer was cracking so hats off to the cellar man, good selection of wines so the Mrs was very happy, at times maybe a little too happy :0) only playing but hey our plan was to chill to get away from the day to day, mission accomplished. We’ll definitely be back, Thank You to everyone that made us feel as though we were part of the extended Bathurst family. PS,, the locals are proper nuts but in a really good kind of way
We had a great stay here at at Bathurst Arms. Lovely rooms, comfy beds and very charming classic country pub. We also took our two young children. Food was fantastic esp the roast pots
