Absolutely great staff. Helpful, professional and really nice to work with before and during our event. We ha a 60-person Reception. The food was amazing. Nice hidden gem in Newport beach. View all feedback.
What Garry Kepes doesn't like about Back Bay Bistro:
2019 new year 's eve extravaganza. We paid $300 per couple for VIP seating. dining and entertainment. We waited about an hour to get a table next to the bathroom. The food was good as well af the wait servers after we were seated. No comprehension was offered or made for the seating debacle. The Stevie Nicks band was great and had a lot of fun with that. Would have been a 5 except for the beginning and no make up of the issue.
The buffet brunch was delightful and the view was outstanding.
It was disappointing for the location. Food was ok and service was acceptable. Much better choices in the area
Wonderful location, delicious food in a family fun environment
My wife and her friends had their 45th high school reunion at this location. The venue was clean and presentable but the service and atmosphere were something completely different. The food was nothing better than average. I wasn't impressed, but then again it was just a high school reunion. The employees were more worried about getting out of there and going home then actually doing something constructive. The event was supposed to end at 10:00 p.m. at 8:00 p.m. the employees kept grabbing glasses off tables that were still partially full and putting them away when people were away for a moment or dancing. My wife bought a glass of wine which was probably 8-10 oz in size (tops) for $17 including tax and tip. While she was out dancing, one of the staff snatched up her still partially full glass of wine and took it away to be discarded. I had to literally get up and grab a new napkin twice, because as soon as I left the table, it was gone! We had servers either walking around or standing by tables like vultures waiting for people to leave so they can just grab everything and bail. A gentleman at our table had to stop a server from grabbing his wife's dinner that was still left on her plate while she was away at the restroom. You still have 2 hours left. Relax! The temperature in the place was excruciatingly hot! No air conditioning whatsoever! Just ceiling fans that were completely ineffective for the amount of people in the room and the activity that was going on. Luckily the vibe from the crowd was awesome so everyone was still able to make the best out of it. I wasn't the only one complaining about this stuff either. Several others at our table had the same issues as well. It's too bad that this venue threw a wrench into things, but everyone had a good time with all things considered. Personally, I would not come back here myself. I drove all the way from the Inland empire for this event and expected a venue that was comfortable and cool with decent service.
I went here a while back and the food was really good! Loved it
