My husband and I stayed in Scottsdale overnight. After reading previous good reports on Sun Wah, we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The roast pork with plum sauce is the best we've tasted, as were the honey prawns. The proprietor is a...lovely lady. Just be a bit patient if they are busy, it's well worth the wait. What User doesn't like about Sun Wah:
From start to finish a bit of a disaster. Food collected on time. When serving up we realised some of the order was missing. Rang in, had to go and collect. Beef in Black bean sauce, when served was in fact Duck, Fried Rice had...had Curry Sauce added when Curry Sauce was additional order, not to be put on Rice. Chips cold and greasy. Won’t be ordering again from here. View all feedback.
Excellent eating. a lot of choice. freshly cooked to order. we're coming back. Thank you!
Absolutely the best Chinese I ever ordered. have sun wah used in the last 15 years and have eaten again in this week when I visited home, was a delightful break from the relatiw terrible local restaurants that we have. her sweet sour sauce is the best of any British chinese I have tried, and they still sell pork balls (the chicken balls are superior, fight me) where others have stopped.
Since the 80s (as I have shown my old) I have always been Chinese, and I don't think we ever had a bad meal! the food is delicious, fresh and hot, even if delivered, and we live approx. 5 miles away. the prices are also quite good! would give more stars if I could
Have been coming here for over 40 years but over the last 3 or 4 years, the place has gone down hill. Years ago we rarely had a bad takeaway from here but over the last couple of years bad now seems to be the norm along with rising prices and ever diminishing portion sizes. Missing items are also an annoyance given that its nearly a 25 mile round trip, are also a regular feature. The last meal we had was dire, crispy chilli beef that was unchewable , chicken special chow mein that had next to no sauce, tasteless soft noodle and bean sprouts, chips that were rock hard, duck pancakes where the duck was like chewing leather, beef curry that had next to no meat content, chicken fried rice that was devoid of flavour. The chicken fried rice was my side dish and a personal annoyance, nearly 6 quid for that, half a dozen bits of rubbery chicken, a few peas and rice, all with zero flavour. We had other dishes but don't recall what they were but all were as disappointing as the others.Years ago the containers would have been rammed full but these days portion sizes have been cut back considerably, a couple of our tubs were only just above half full of food, pretty annoying how expensive sun wah has become. On a plus note, if you spend enough you may sometimes get a bag of complimentary prawn crackers. We generally come here 6 or 7 times a year and buy a big meal for the family spending £35-40 a time. But having for the last couple of years been disappointed with the food but still returning to give the place another chance in the hope that we would get a decent takeaway we now give up after the last meal. We never throw food away but most of it went in the bin, it was that bad.The place has gone to the dogs and we will never be back.
Efficient and friendly, food hot and good tasting. Pancake roll was very greasy.
