I wanted to visit while we were there. we were actually in an apartment looking at it, and it was always ve... read more I saw this place first on a local Perranporth group. I wanted to visit while we were there. we were actually in an apartment looking at it, and it was always very popular and busy in september too. we went to lunch and had nice roasted sandwiches. you really feel like you're sitting on the beach. it is not a huge place, but it is worth visiting and it is clean and great facility. the teetassen, teller etc. are beautiful. I was immediately confused by the signs for man and woman at the toilet doors, but worked quickly.

The young lady behind the bar was fantastic came and wiped down the table we sat down at, taking our order with with a smile like she enjoyed working there (this to me is great to see). But when the weather's not great and the balcony doors are closed you start to notice other things around you and this is why it's only a 3/5 it needs a **** good clean as it's looking filthy and tired. Was in Perranporth when it 1st opened and spent many a day/night there but unfortunately we couldn't wait to leave as soon as we'd finished our drinks.

There was 1 young lady working on her own she did an amazing job of taking all our orders making the drinks in a friendly way. The coffee was excellent as were the chocolate brownies flapjacks. The view from the cafe is amazing we could not have wished for a more pleasant refreshment break.

My husband and myself dropped in for coffee as we have done many times before, normally just for coffee but thought we would treat ourselves. Ordered a piece of carrot cake and slice of blueberry sponge. The coffee is always good here but i would not have the cakes again as they were the driest i have had in a long time. They state on the website fresh that day but don't specify which day. These cakes had been a long time on the counter. They were not todays. They were an expensive mistake.

I only stopped in for a drink before heading to the summer house for a meal, but the staff were incredibly helpful (I had trouble choosing a cocktail). The music was fantastic, even at 8.30 in the morning when I was walking my dogs on the beach. It put a smile on my face. Thank you, Alcatraz.
