What 767kevino doesn't like about The Farran Pantry:
After visiting Farran Woods, we followed the signs to a nice little cafe. Unfortunately, the prices were quite high for what you get. I ordered a chorizo and bean salad with lime dressing for €9, but couldn't taste any lime. The salad was okay, but not worth the price. My wife ordered a mature cheddar and ham sandwich for €7, but received the wrong one. The waitress took it back and brought the same sandwich back wit... View all feedback.
I was disappointed to learn that this restaurant has closed. It was a lovely place with clean, colorful decor. The couple who ran the restaurant, presumably the owners, were very friendly and hardworking. They had a nice menu and revitalized the shop that was previously in the same location, bringing some life back to Farren for a short time. Unfortunately, it seems they struggled due to their location being off the beaten track and not advertising themselves enough. It's a reflection of modern life, where people tend to stick to the main highways and not support local businesses that offer a personal touch. Instead, they prefer impersonal service with a focus solely on making a sale.

My wife ordered a mature cheddar and ham sandwich for €7, but received the wrong one. The waitress took it back and brought the same sandwich back with extra relish and a few slices of cheddar. The concept of the cafe seemed good, but the execution fell short. It was overpriced for the quality. On the bright side, they provided water for our dog and the cakes looked delicious and reasonably priced.
The restaurant is in a great location and the coffee is excellent. I stopped by for a coffee to go, along with a slice of cake and a few pantry staples. While the coffee and cake were delicious, I found them to be pricier than other similar establishments. The food items, although high quality, were also on the expensive side. However, I must say that the homemade bread was outstanding.
What a surprise place this was. We were recommended from the Zipit activity folks to grab a bite here which was 5 minutes away. They had amazing soups and salads and sandwiches and for our 2 families including some vegetarians, everyone enjoyed the lunch meal! The service was great and the food was super fresh and made to order.
Great selection of home baking... lovely coffee! Just stopped for a quick coffee but couldn't resist the proper home pastries... this was a treat. Looking forward to going back for lunch soon...
