Bean Leaf - Cork
Bean Leaf
Description
Tucked in Cork city centre, this bustling café is beloved for excellent coffee, spiced chai choices and a standout cake selection — cheesecakes and peanut-butter bars draw fans. Friendly, attentive staff and late hours make it a convenient spot for locals and visitors, though popularity means it can be crowded. Limited seating, one restroom, occasional inconsistent drink execution and no gluten-free options, combined with scarce parking, temper an otherwise charming, affordable experience.

Charming café with a very friendly and attentive staff. Service is quick and efficient.
I ordered a hot chocolate, but when it arrived, I found myself scraping off the foam before I even got to the actual drink. I made it halfway through the cup before I encountered any real hot chocolate. When I asked them to just top it up with some milk, they made a new drink instead, but it ended up being just a cup of milk with no hot chocolate in it. I paid £4.20 for that. Additionally, there were no gluten-free options available. The Americano was very bitter and nearly undrinkable. We also had to wait a long time for the one restroom. Overall, we definitely won't be coming back.
This is a lovely café with plenty of seating, although it tends to get busy. The staff members are consistently friendly, and the coffee is excellent. While I find the cakes a bit too sweet for my taste, my friends enjoy them. Additionally, the coffee prices are quite reasonable compared to other places nearby!
I really enjoy this spot in the city center. The service is prompt and the coffee is delicious—truly exceptional. The staff are friendly as well. Overall, I would give it a 5-star rating! However, I do wish there was more seating available; it can get quite crowded, and I often end up taking my coffee to go.
