Parking: The downtown area in Concord is fantastic! I've never seen so much free parking available. It’s now my go-to downtown because I absolutely dislike driving around searching for parking or having to pay for it. View all feedback.
What Sunshine Pleasants doesn't like about Ramen 101:
I am not partial to restaurants that expect you to tip before you receive your meal .Counter service generally is iffy whether the service is going to be good or notThe server gave my food to another person and did not realize until the person was halfway done eating my order... So I had to wait.. She also did not bring my hot tea till I was through eating. I had to ask twice. She did tell me the tea would be hot. Ho... View all feedback.
My little family came in for a quick meal while wandering around Santa Plaza. We ordered chicken karaage with the Miso and Tonkotsu ramen. The ramen bowls were filling but lacking flavor from a slow brewing thick broth and unless you have leftover noods to go with an XL portion of karaage, you're going to need some extra rice. The staff were quick and attentive, I appreciate y'all accommodating us with a toddle and putting on Lilo Stitch on the tv too. Ramen 101 definitely satiated our cravings, we hope to come back soon!
Really good and has good delicious food definitely recommending.
This is not100% Japanese flavor, but it is one of the closest I've experienced in NorCal. So it is definitely worth the price. Large portions of pork slices and friendly service. I go there every month or so.

So I had to wait.. She also did not bring my hot tea till I was through eating. I had to ask twice. She did tell me the tea would be hot. However, I did not expect it to scald me. I jumped out of my seat and spilled some on my hand and table.I was so upset. The tea burned my mouth so bad I got a blister on the inside and top of my lip. They should never serve tea that hot. If it were given to a child, it would have been extremely bad.
Not a bad ramen place. It is convenient, fast and priced reasonably. However this is not the most authentic ramen you can get around the area. The broth is tasty but overly salty. The chashu is okay. The soft boiled eggs are surprisingly good. We also ordered a side of kaarage. It's tad bit too greasy to our liking. Again, if you have a sudden craving of a ramen bowl, this is not a bad choice. But if you are looking for that rich, authentic broth with Japanese ramen (the fresh made kind), you may want to look around. The restaurant setup is simple and clean. Napkins and chopsticks are provided on all tables. Customer service is alright, it's kinda like a ramen fast-food restaurant so no body will come up to check on with you, which I actually appreciate. There are quite some street parking spots but since it's the downtown area, plan ahead if you are driving especially during the weekends. There are two free parking structures around too so parking shouldn't be a huge issue.
