The food here was so great and delicious. There are no kid size burgers available from the kid's menu. But if you get a burger they are huge and tasty. Just make sure you tell them you would it well done if you are not a fan of medium well for a burger. They have local beer on tap and was served chill to keep you calm and cool. We sat outside with no flies in the area. My family and I came here on a Sunday afternoon.... View all feedback.
What BRAD A doesn't like about Cold Beer! Brewers:
I have never seen so many flies in one place. The food and servers were fine. But do not sit outside. There were at least 60 flies on our table of ten. Like Amityville Horror. I know there are flies outdoors, but get some zappers, water bags hanging, fans blowing, something. It was impossible to eat and frankly disgusting. View all feedback.

Parking is tight but there is street parking available. Definitely come here to get your grub on if you are out visiting.
A coworker had recommended Blackwater, so after the A&M basketball game last weekend my boyfriend and I decided to try it out! We were so impressed with every aspect of our visit: great beers, great food, great service! And it wasn't too busy! Plenty of seats inside and a few more outside (it was a nice day) we didn't have to wait for a table or for service! Pros: 1. BEERS. Great variety of beers to choose from. We tried the Mexican Lager and American IPA, and both were good. Wish we'd stayed longer to try more beers! 2. THE FOOD. I wasn't expecting much from the food (brewery food...not usually the best), but it was EXCELLENT. Honestly. We started with the Nemo Nachos: sushi grade tuna on top of fried wonton wrappers with cucumber, avocado, and spring onion then drizzled with three sauces. SO GOOD. SO GOOD. My boyfriend had the short rib sliders, and I had the black been sliders. Good. Bun was good. Short rib/black been patties good. Fries good. YUM. 3. Cool spot. Old house looking building. Big front porch with seating, indoor seating as well (if you hate Texas summer heat like me). 4. TVs for watching sports. 5. Good service! CONS: Not many? Parking can be rough. Other than that it was a great time! I'll be back!
This place is fantastic! I went yesterday for my second time. It is an old house that was turned into a microbrewery with food. There is a huge outdoor area to sit and enjoy full service and the weather. Inside is a tight pub feel, but almost like a cabin. It is seat yourself (which can be good or bad on game days). The service is great and the beer- oh man! I can't say enough about their beer. It is rich and amazing! I have tried several and I love it! It's not what you'd expect from a smaller brewery- I feel like they've perfected their craft (hah get it) for a while! All of their beers are on tap, and there's a few Austin brews in can/bottle. One thing I don't think they do (didn't see it on the menu) is a flight. I mean not sure why you'd want a flight when all their beers are amazing. The food menu changed and shrank since I was last there (2014). The food is still delicious! I had a burger and they have a lot of add one which are hard to choose from and add up fast. I'm sad the burger now comes with regular lettuce than arugula like it used to. I do love how everything is made to order which makes everything fresh and hot..but made to order means it will be a little bit of a wait. It's ok- there's TVs with football on while you wait. The only thing I don't like is their restrooms. I feel like they're dark, outdated and unclean. But I've also seen way worse.
Freaking love this place!! I usually avoid Northgate like the plague but I will make an exception for this place. Family friendly brewery with great beer, strong community ties, good food, and pretty good waitresses. Camnot speak highly enough about thos place! The one and only drawback if I had to find a negative is the parking.... northgate parking freaking sucks.
Overall this place seemed overstaffed and somewhat over-hyped. I have started to appreciate the local brewery vibe in College Station so I gave Blackwater a shot. I tried a pecan ale and it was really tasty. The seasonal shandy was great but the waitress had to teach the bartender the right pouring ratio. The food was too pricey so I did not even bother. I would recommend the t-shirts for all--tourists and locals alike. They're really soft and about $22 with tax.
