We come from Calgary when we want decent Chinese and fresh hot buffet style food. Never disappointed. DESSERT bar is not large but it's still good with nanimo bars cookies fruit. Soup is wonton and a 2nd choice. Stirfry's shrmp chicken mushrooms veg dishes sometime a bake salmon sometimes a roast of beef. .probably those are more a weekend food. What User doesn't like about Cochrane Palace:
I go there every few months hoping the chef had changed but each time I find the buffet depleted of food with a few morsels of meat or vegetables swimming around in grease or oil and/or the buffet containers are empty. On August 31, 2014, we decided to order Chinese food for delivery at 8:00 PM. The food arrived in about 35 minutes and was still hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were generous and there was no skimping on ingredients. Despite our initial concerns based on previous reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of the food. Don't hesitate to give this restaurant a try!

IT was good, for years and then this past spring something has changed, new owners perhaps, its no longer good nor is the food good; the buffet is poor, cold and limited in both selection and quantity, the bins are almost empty, you get very little to eat.
Ordered takeout and was told it was a 40-minute wait. Called them after over an hour, they said 10 more min. Called them again 20 minutes later, and they said 5 more min. Fast forward to TWO HOURS later (on a Thursday) and STILL no food. When it finally came it was completely cold and disgusting. Literally, 0 seasoning and barely any meat/veg. Tasted so bland and gross. Called (nicely) to complain and was told we would not be getting anything refunded. When I finally got upset they agreed to give us 20% off our next order what a joke. Like we would ever order there again. Seriously the biggest waste of $60 I 've ever seen. At least refund our money after you served us cold bland food 2 hours late!
We were staying at a local hotel and ordered delivery. We were told it would take at least 1 hour and we were fine with that. Surprise it arrived within 30 minutes. We request cutlery and we were not disappointed. We ordered 2 dinner for one and #7 apps for 4. The food was hot but it was more rice than anything. About 70% was rice and 15% veggies and 15% ginger beef. That was disappointing. We both ate our meals and had enough rice for 2 more meals that we took home with us. We have eaten here before and had take away lunch special which was much better.
