1627 Bar Restaurant - Coburg

We were taken by friends to this new restaurant on a cold, wet January evening where we received such a warm welcome well done to all the lovely staff at Lokal 1627 for making our evening so nice. When you first see how few dishes there are on the menu you might be surprised but it was so easy to make a choice and the cooking is great not fast as everything is prepared to order, but as the restaurant was full it was easy to see people were relaxed and enjoying the atmosphere. The quality of the beef was superb really flavoursome, the menu changes every two days so I expect it will be totally different on another visit very clever as you know everything will be fresh. My husband tried two of the beers they source guest beers from independent breweries which he said made a nice change from those usually offered. Clever names for the loos too! Will definitely make a point of going back there on our next visit to Bavaria.

This is a quiet little place in the centre of Coburg. The concept is simple: a very small menu, one soup, one salad, a fish dish, a meat dish and a vegetarian option. The food is cooked freshly in what appears to be a very small kitchen. A lot of the ingredients seem to be locally sourced and the drinks are at least partly from small artisan producers. Although the dishes on the menu would not have been what I would order elsewhere, our food was tasty and enjoyable. The service was fast and friendly and although we didn't rush, or feel rushed, we were in and out with two courses and coffee in an hour. I would recommend it but make sure you book a table as it is quite small and busy.

We came here for drinks after dinner. The bar has a wide selection of drinks. The place was packed and very lively. Great place to hang out and chill with friends.

Once you are in Coburg you must go to this place. Quit short menu, but very delicious always. Friendly personal and nice ambiente

I love the argentinian steak in 1627 and the Silvaner wine. Stuff is always very friendly greeting with name and comunicative. Always when i am in Coburg i visit 1627
