we went to a nice sunny day and sat outside. they order on the switch inside, where there are also seats. we ordered the potato and mushroom cake with muddy heaps and cabbage and the new yorker Deli sandwich. the portions were more than generous. the caffe is located near the central market where they really sell good fruit and vegetables. updated by previous review on 2022-09-14 View all feedback.
What Vissott doesn't like about Secret Garden Cafe:
The food and service could be better, second time of going and things could be improved. The food just needs a little extra attention. Ie, toasting the right bun for a burger. Better coleslaw, attention to detail. The first time I went they gave 2 friends only half portion of quiche without saying anything and afterwards gave them and us a biscuit to compensate!!! The secret garden café belonged to this facility. mainly a vegetarian food outlet, but does meat breakfast I think. personal friendly and helpful, small inside but has outside seats when weather is good.
Delicious fresh baked scones and a large pot of tea in a lovely outdoor seating area, great value for money. Friendly staff who welcomed my large dog and provided a fresh water bowl for him.
Brilliant value comfort food, healthy and delicious. Meal for two for as little as £10, we spent £22 for 3 drinks, 2 cakes and two hearty meals. Friendly staff. All food vegan or veggie, with fake meat (bacon, mince etc) or just veg options. Good Covid measures in place, app check-in provided, staff wear masks and have screens. Child and breastfeeding friendly, highchair available.
Lovely surprise as we walked down a side street to the market, even more so with the delightful outside eating area with a sunny South South West aspect.....plenty of goodies in the health shop with a convenient side door to the cafe.
Had a superb vegan afternoon tea here this afternoon, served by a lovely, friendly team. Soup, plenty of assorted sandwiches, crisps, scone with jam, trifle, strawberries and a selection of cakes. It’s the first vegan afternoon tea we’ve had where everything was delicious nothing felt like a compromise. A word of warning don’t eat anything during the day before you go, or you won’t manage to finish it all!
