Lovely dining experience with cozy and intimate setting — indoor dining space is quite limited but as a result, it feels quite homey. The tamarind ribs appetizer was sinfully delicious and had no right to be that tasty. Easily would order a full slab if available. The catch of the day (barramundi) was much more reserved but equally as delicious. Would recommend for a lovely date night out! View all feedback.
What Hari S doesn't like about Akar:
My son was raving about this restaurant when he took us there for dinner. We are visiting from the east coast. Honest it was so so. Ordered ravioli rangoon, gnocchi, beef shank, chicken thigh deep fried, and risotto. The food literally had no taste. Fusion my foot. The people eating are as clueless as the people making the food. And it is grossly overpriced and portions are meager. It is a ripoff. View all feedback.

Excellent experience for us! My husband and I are from Atlanta and we walked in, not knowing that there were set times for us to reserve to eat there. They were understanding and said that we could sit at the bar until the next reserved guest came in. The bar was the best seat in the house because we truly got to talk about food with our server and others around us. We ordered the pea soup, lobster rangoon, pot stickers, cha sui chicken, and the chicken pho. The food was flavorful. Many of the d … – show
A intimate experience with amazing food. Every single bite was an explosion of flavor. The spare rib fell right off the bone. The blossom cocktail was delicious. All of the vegetables were all cooked to perfection. I didn't know mashed peas could be so delicious. The roasted carrots and eggplant were great as well. It was expensive but worth every penny.
Among the best meals I’ve ever had. I recommend the walnut dip as an appetizer and the lamb shank if it’s still on special.
Had the most delightful experience at Akar last night celebrating an anniversary, eating great food, and getting to know the staff. They provided wise recommendations to go heavy on apps and light on the entree. Lots of creative flavors to enjoy here. Highly recommend the walnut spread with endives. Loved the small, intimate, and friendly atmosphere. Can't wait to come back!
