Richmond?s - City of Rochester

The remodel is beautiful. Foods is still great. The service was really good. Abigail is a sweetheart.

This is what happens when someone takes a classic staple of a historical Rochester bar, and ruins it with dreams of being a NYC bistro bar... this place used to be welcoming friendly and really took care of its customers... currently, I felt like it's doing the opposite. The kitchen closes way to early on weekends, and the drinks are overpriced for what they actually serve you. I understand a great mixologist or legendary bartender who wows the masses can be a great thing for any bar, and that might warrant higher drink prices usually found in higher end establishments. I did not feel.like that was the case here at all.. The staff here was not overly friendly and did not make any effort to treat us with any sort of acknowledgement, until we literally had to ask for drinks.. (it wasn't even busy on our visit) We went upstairs which is nice looking, but literally empty with no one up there? Where are all the people for this lounge area they created? When we actually saw an employee up there, he answered our questions rudely, and made us feel dumb for even talking to him.... so that sucks. Basically, I will end it with this. If you like people being pretentious and treating you like your not cool enough to be in thier average establishment that overcharges for meager drinks...The Richmond might be for you! If you want friendly service in a timely manner with a welcoming atmosphere, you won't find it here.

I’ve gotten pizza at the Richmond’s about 6 times now. The past three times has been terrible. Burnt crust, and holes in the dough just to name a few issues. I asked around and found out the main pizza guy left a few months ago and now the little chubby bald guy runs the show. Rochester has a great pizza scene (Fiamma, Pizza Wizard, Fiorella, the pizza stop) so the Richmond needs to figure out their pizza situation.Great craft beer though which is why two stars.

Came to try out the highly regarded wings. We ordered, then I watched the bartender pull out a large plastic bag of frozen wings from the freezer and drop them straight into the fry basket. I knew it was going to be bad. The wings were of course slimy and mushy because they were frozen. They were also ridiculously tiny, similar size to the little wings that dominoes sells for $0.25 a piece. The hot sauce had no heat. Worse than mediocre in every respect. All this would have been fine, and I would not write this review... BUT: They charged $18 for 12 of the smallest grossest wings I've ever had and I find that incredibly disingenuous. $1.50 per wing is an outrageous price, even if they're very good. To serve terrible wings at that price is a blatant ripoff. The bartender also overcharged us for all our beers and didn't provide an itemized receipt. We only caught it because the bill was so insane we couldn't believe it and asked for an itemized bill, after which she corrected the charges. All-around terrible experience. The fact that this place brags about their wings is laughable. If you want great wings go to L&M, not here.

I ordered a beer was given something completely different. The pizza we ordered came out cold the wings were terrible. I definitely won't be returning to this place.
