Great place to stop in for the shengjianbao (Shanghainese pan-fried buns), as well as lots of other dishes from all over China. The cooked food take out corner is also a good deal especially if you like Sichuanese cold dishes; it comes with rice and a small soup. They also sell frozen dumplings that you can buy to have at home for convenience. View all feedback.
What Charles L doesn't like about Kang Kang Shau May:
Yesterday, I had a meal at this restaurant. Since the weather wasn't very hot, the restaurant didn't turn on the air conditioning. In order to improve air circulation, they left the door wide open, which resulted in flies flying everywhere. I also informed the staff that it was unhygienic, but nobody paid attention to me. So, I had to report it to the local health department and ask them to address the issue. View all feedback.
Normally from Ventura, and working out here. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. Definitely want to come back and try some of the other items

This is of my to go places in terms of quick, easy, and affordable Taiwanese food. I have been eating at their restaurant branches for the last 20 years and their food doesn't disappoint. They have increased their prices to keep up with inflation. Back then a rice combo was about $4, and now it's about $8 to $9. It comes with rice, a soup, and your choice of dishes. The price of the combo depends on how many dishes you get. Their portions were huge! We ordered two items and it fed two adults and two little kids. The total was less than $25. Our server was generous with the portions and we thank her for that. She asked how many people in our party and she gave out four bowls with ladle in case we wanted to share the noodles. I love getting the Peddler's Noodle every time. It's simple, healthy, and not too greasy. They have multiple branches all serving the same food, so we stopped by here today. It is perfect for all generations, which is why we get it to feed families at a time. A must try is their 生煎包, which is basically pan fried dumplings. They pair very well with the vinegar and you can get full eating just 4-5 of them. I took off one star because it's not the cleanest. The restrooms need a lot of maintenance and the tables can feel sticky. I still love the food though so we keep coming back for more.

Three and 1/2 stars for variety of food for great price. You can order3-4 items with rice and soup or order from menu for full dishes. They have dumplings and regular foods. Don't expect much service or help... it's a Chinese speaking restaurant and they expect you to know what you want and don't really respond to questions. Good price and selection; food is okay.
