During a visit to the little village where my grandmother grew up, my family arranged for dinner at the Trattoria citta d’Umbria. We had attended an 8:45 am mass and then explored this tiny little village before arriving to the restaurant prior to their normal opening time. My family had reached out and arranged for them to be ready for our early arrival. The atmosphere was beautiful with two dining rooms, a private dining area and a terrace. The food was all fresh. I mean FRESH. We ordered prosciutto and watched them slice it for us. They served us warm torta di patate, an appetizer my family has been making for generations. All of our meals were amazing. Delicious but without a doubt I will be sure to order the tortelli in broth as it was a perfect mix of pasta and meats. We completed our meal with scrumptious deserts and coffees. The service was top-notch and when we left the restaurant, it was packed! I will not come back to Italy without making our way to the Trattoria Citta d’Umbria.
