Seen this place on Check please and after all the rant and rave I decided to check it out. Overall it was fair. The appetizer Aloo Bonda was delish. Can't remember what the entree was that I ordered, def a Dosai though. It was alright. I like the various sauces they give with pretty much everything. I would try it again. My family and I have been going to Udupi since we've lived in the neighborhood in 2002 and until now, even after we've moved out and away. We love southern Indian food, and especially because it's vegetarian/vegan. Polite team, good service and relaxing atmosphere.
My choice for veg cuisine in Chicago. Classy yet warm atmosphere, always outstanding dishes with all the variety you expect of a good Indian restaurant.
The staff and owner were very friendly, and the food was delicious! Definitely worth the price.
