Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings - Chicago

This was the first time my wife and I have ever had real dumplings and it's been 7 hours and I'm still thinking about them. I will be comparing everything I eat to this place. It was amazing.Food: 5/5

My first observation is that Waiting area is small and gets crowded especially during the weekend. We waited for 30mins before we got seated. The wait was worth it! Service was fast, since we were waiting we decided to browse the menu. There were 3 ways of how they cook their dumplings, S-B-F (Steam, boiled and Fried). We tried all 3 ways of Pork Cabbage, my daughter love the fried while hubby and I loved the steam. We also had cucumber salad kimchi for appetizer and that was good too! We love it so much that we bought a pack for midnight snack!

Host was on point with wait time. We were seated and knew what to order. Food came out fast and it was piping hot. Was it worth the wait? Yes and no. The shrimp pork leek was the best. Flavorful and soup was delicious. The beef and onion was okay. The pork and cabbage was okay as well. I am happy to have tried it. I am not sure I’ll make the drive back and crave it in the future.

This is a MUST in Chinatown. The dumplings here are the best In all of Illinois. We come here once or twice a week sometimes. The owner is usually there and he is very friendly and very nice. The service is always great and the food is always perfect. I am always satisfied here.Food: 5/5
