Monty Gaels Tavern Grill - Chicago

The food and service were stellar. It's nice to find a place that has happy hour and specials on a Friday. Nice selection of Irish fare in addition to their beer choices. My wife and I haven't had a poor experience any time we've come.

Our waitress tried to charge us for $70 of drinks we didn?t drink. Great drink specials, but don?t come here expecting service. When you try to kindly say, ?Hey, sorry, but we didn?t order this,? you might get into a full blown argument with someone youintended on tipping 25%.

This place is really really good! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because they were so backed up last night that our apps came out with our food. I felt really bad they were under staffed. The bartender had to step in and serve us to helppick up the pace and he was awesome!!! Seemed like they had a new waitress who was thrown in on a very busy night and poor thinggot swamped!!! The bartender was definitely doing triple duty. He's has 5 stars for sure. Otherwise this place is great beenhere before and loved it. Their Shepard's pie was delicious!!!

The staff is friendly without being bothersome. The drinks are reasonably priced for the neighborhood. The location couldn't be better.

Just a great place! Food... excellent! Atmosphere...classic Irish Pub! Family recipes! Wait staff... Young,but oh so friendly! LOVE IT!!! and poke-friendly!
