Althea - Chicago

The cheese board was fun and flavorful. The crab cake sandwich lacked flavor. The corn risotto was not bad, the top of the dish had some yummy vegetables but losses the corn element. The al pastor taco was good! I’ve been to quite a few Matthew Kinney restaurants and this one didn’t hold the standard I’m used to for his dining experience and food quality.

Really enjoyed our experience! We arrived a few minutes past our reservation and the staff was accommodating to us in holding our table. We had a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline from our table. The food was delicious, but the best part was that it is healthy and balanced! It's so hard to find a vegan restaurant to go to that has all those three things you can check off your list. We enjoyed two entrees and a dessert. Can't wait to come back for more!

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I didn’t know what to expect since the restaurant was part of the department store, but it maintained a contemporary theme and chill atmosphere. Our waiter’s knowledge and descriptions of the dishes were very accurate and helped us navigate through the menu. Everything we tried from the food to the cocktails was delicious and the presentations begged for photos. Highly recommend this restaurant for the food, vibes and friendly staff,

The entire experience was fantastic--food, drinks, service, ambience. I didn 't rate this restaurant high on value , however, because this is a splurge kind of destination. Otherwise, for a gourmet vegan meal out, Althea is a wonderful restaurant!
