The first thought on entering is how quaint with open oak beams, but unlike other places these are real. Secondly was how reasonably priced the lunch menu is. It is slightly limited in the choice but frankly it made no difference the food was absolutely stunning as you would expect of Michelin Guide fare. In a rare event SWMBO had the cheese. I have a real feeling of organic and clean in the space they have created, not in contrast to rogans l’enclume in cartmel. After I worked for an eating and drinking editorial, I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants all over the world and this is up there, maybe a little time to go a star, but I would predict that it will happen if they continue to do what they are doing now. keep them the wonderful work, they do a great job.

The restaurant is small but perfectly formed, the team members are friendly and the food is excellent. The lunch menu is very straightforward with typically 3 choices for each of the three courses. Every meal I've had here has been delicious, and I've always found it to represent excellent value given the superb standard of the cooking. Highly recommend.

However on so many occasions it was not possible until the other week... read more I have been determined to get into Next Door for as long as the restaurant has been open! However on so many occasions it was not possible until the other week when we (myself and the girlfriend) with the facility of attending a birthday party. As I entered I found myself looking at a fabulous rural bijou place with olde worlde charm dripping from every corner of the restaurant. Now that's the decor discussed so on with the food and drink that was on offer and this was I promise you exquisite. I had a couple of beers that I have not sampled before to begin with and they were very nice. Then this was followed by some delicious red wine . Now I don't normally drink red wine but decided to on this occasion. Moving on to the food. Now it was a taster menu and every dish albeit small was quite stunning to behold and quite delicious. Augmenting that was a good informative description of each dish that was brought to our table. I must also add that they were quite filling as well. In sum an excellent meal in every respect and I cannot wait to go back.

He loves fine dining, that’s why he chose Next Door, the restaurant is only small and intimate, but the ambiance of the place is spot on, matching the clientele! The lunch menu although small, was just right, as everything is cooked to order. I opted for the main and dessert! Delicious, as the menu changes every week I will only comment on the flavours and portions. I found it to be a dining sensation, the flavours were unbelievable, an explosion of tastes that every one of my tastebuds picked up on. The portions were ok for me, but I know others would have eaten another 2 dishes. My dessert, even now I’m in heaven with the taste! WOW! 100% amazing. The staff were very attentive, ready to take our orders, drinks and anything else we wanted, we were able to relax, no rush, just a completely relaxing delicious meal. I would definitely go back! They were knowledgable about the exciting menu, which was adapted to suit dietary preferences easily. Vicki paired some beautiful wines she really knows her stuff.
