Despite mixed reviews on the staff, the real ales and friendly atmosphere leave a lasting impression. The pub offers a diverse beer selection, with notable recommendations like Olicana and Salopian Oracle. The lunch menu is budget-friendly and includes classic dishes. The decor may not be the highlight, but the extensive beer mat collection adds character. Overall, this pub caters to a variety of tastes, making it a solid choice for a casual drink or meal in Cheshire.
Pleasant small courtyard that now has a white gazebo covering half of the outside space. Staff are friendly and other patrons were welcoming. We went on a Thursday evening for a couple of drinks and it wasn't crowded. There is sanitiser and a book to sign and give a mobile number. We will happily return.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a classic old school pub vibe and serves bar food during lunch hours from 12pm to 2pm. The staff is excellent and it's a fun place to play a spontaneous game of pool. Plus, they serve Dortmunder beer, which is a nice bonus.
Good quality basic pub. Food only served very limited hours.
My wife and I had a great meal and enjoyed some delicious beers at a restaurant close to The Station in Macclesfield during our weekend getaway. The food and beer were both excellent.
I cannot provide a rating for the food as I did not eat there.
