We stayed here for 1 night whilst walking the Cotswold Way. The property is now run by the White Hart next door and is in reality in need of complete internal renovation. Whether that is possible or not I do not know. The rooms are dated, the curtains don’t fit properly and whilst it was clean and the bed comfortable the surroundings of the shower mouldy. We had a delicious afternoon tea here today which was truely scrumptious. I am dairy intolerant which they totally catered for and the service was brilliant. Would totally recommend and looking forward to returning.
Food was good, however service was very disappointing and the waiting staff seemingly lost interest in providing any form of service after coming to the realisation that we were not consuming alcohol. This meant that despite the good food, the evening was slightly soured and on this basis we wouldn't return.
Lovely set lunch in very pleasant restaurant. Mackerel x 2 to start followed by baked cod on smashed potatoes and veg plus blade of beef off the bone with puy lentils and roast veg. Tempted by desserts but resisted Would return
Spectacular evening from the moment we arrived through the door. Such a wonderful welcome with superb service. The cuisine was exquisite....every one of our seven courses was truly divine and beautifully presented. Each wine complemented the dish perfectly. Well done Matthew and team and Amelia. You aced it!!!
Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights while exploring the area. Really qwerky hotel, steeped in history, friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food all freshly cooked.
