Came here one day to check out the tamales they where so good! Definitely a hidden gem I would tell everyone to check out. Remember though CASH ONLY I found out the hard way and had to run to walgreens down the street. Gonna be my new go to in the area definitely reminds me of good food I had when I was in Chicago. Very nice lady at the front counter. View all feedback.
What Joe Gorbea doesn't like about Miss G's Tortas Y Tamales.:
If this place was to be judged by the happy SRO crowd of construction workers enjoying their lunch break then five stars would be deserved...food was hot and reasonably priced...a bit too much on the greasy spoon end of the spectrum for my taste.Food: 3/5 View all feedback.
I had tamales and they was the best I ever had and I'm for Houston Texas where there's lots of competition, but this joint ROCKS!! Price per person: $10–20
Best tamales and tortas we’ve ever had. Forgot to take a picture because we dove in too quickly must stop!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Tamales Parking space: Plenty of parking
Excellent fresh tamales. My favorite was the zucchini and cheese. The pork tamale was also good. Get the refried black beans with queso fresco and fresh guacamole with chips. Add one of their refreshing agua frescas (I recommend the cucumber) and your summer day will be complete. This charming hole in the wall has been around for years and features picnic tables as well as small inside dining with great service. Clean. Off the beaten path, authentic. A+
