I've been several times before on my trips to Montreal. This was the first time I went with a big group. Being able to bring your own wine without a cork fee is amazing. We brought 8 bottles which would have cost a fortune. The appetizers were excellent and the main course was amazing. The customer service was really good too. When we go into the restaurant, we feel like we're in a cafeteria. It's very noisy and the pretty ordinary decoration for a steakhouse. especially at the menu price. The food is okay, a chance. been there, done that. for the price and the atmosphere I will go to the gibbys View all feedback.
Visited on a whim for lunch as it is right next to the Convention Centre. They had lunch menu so I ordered a 12oz steak frites. The steak was ok, a but tough to cut but tender in the mouth. I believe the sauce I had was the mustard sauce? it was very flavourful. We also had calamari for the table and it was some of the best Ive ever had just slightly under seasoned. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and considering the restaurant was absolutely fully packed at that time our meals came within a reasonable wait. Prices for lunch I believe the steak was between 30-40$ for the 12oz.
I recently dined at Steak Frites and was once again impressed! It had been many years since my last visit to Montréal, but this steakhouse experience was just as fantastic as I remembered, if not even better. The steak was perfectly cooked, the shrimp plentiful, and the Maple Dijon salad dressing was exquisite. The wait staff was attentive, quick, and very friendly. I couldn't believe the quality of the meal for such a great price. This restaurant never fails to disappoint! I highly recommend making reservations if you're in town - you won't regret it. I can't wait to return!
We came as a group, and had a terrific meal. We had a great server. No issues with us bringing our own wine and beer (apparently some Quebec restaurants allow this, it was new for me! Check the hours before going, they closed earlier than I though they might.
Was walking past and fancied a steak. The restaurant was OK in terms of design, nothing special. They don't for some reason have a drinks license so as a casual diner I drank iced Tea which was pleasant enough. Service was good. The steak was tasty, but a little overdone, I wanted medium pink with a little blood....but came a bit more cooked than that. You can get as many frites as you want and additional ones if needed. For me, I'd rather they'd concentrate on improving veg and quality of frites
Food was very good. But the service was poor, to say the least. Some of the staff lacked personality don’t think they had the experience. The male waiter was ok. But the female waitress was terrible. She served the soup, no spoons. Then she served the coffee no spoons again and no sugar. we had to get up several time to ask for everything! Couldn’t even get her attention. But the food and the Restaurant very nice.
