Good little burger spot off South Blvd. Prices are fair for what you get. The burger tastes similar (but better) than a McDonald's burger. The fries were ok but needed salt. The onion rings I will come back for! My order took longer to come out because I guess they had to make the onion rings so if you're in a hurry you might want to order french fries. With sadness I write this review. Charlotte is losing another great staple of the city. Zack's has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I remember spending summer vacation at the Scaleybark Library across the street and grabbing the Zack's special no mayo, light special sauce with onion rings instead of fries with sweet tea for home (still my go to order til this day). The 2 Hot dog special I shared with my sister or my mom and I sharing the Trout special when she worked at my middle school. Zack's has a dear place in my heart. Their onion rings run deep in my veins you could say. The food is always cooked to order and fresh. The small restaurant seemed so big to me when I was little and now it holds so many memories. I hate to say goodbye but the memories run strong. Zack's Hamburger 4009 South Blvd Charlotte, NC 28209 (Review 549 overall, 93 in 2021)

Tried Zach's for the first time! Very friendly service, COVID compliant with distanced seating inside and outside. Got the Zach's special which did not disappoint only giving 4 stars because I wish the burger was cooked a bit more or charred per their published reviews on the Agenda and so forth but perhaps that was my fault for not specifying. The fries reminded me McDonald's fries but less greasy! For the price point, the quality is very good.
I had to check out Zack 's while I was in town after reading the reviews. I loved that it is truly holding the 50 's nostalgia vibe! the inside is small with only a few seating tables, but they have a counter top with stools all the way across the front (idk maybe 10-20 stools). The service was quick and the employees were all friendly and helpful. I ordered the single burger, but she Zack 'd it for me with the special sauce and toppings, onion ring and a strawberry shake. The onion rings and shake were both were amazing! The burger was a bit basic and didn 't taste freshly made which was disappointing to me. I love a good burger. Note: Bathrooms are outside on the back of the building. Not too big of a deal unless it raining (it was storming when I was there) or you have kids- I saw a few guests get a bit confused with this one and deciding if they wanted to leave their food inside on a table while taking child to the restroom.
The feel and vibe is yesterday's old drive in and burger joints. The line at lunch explains it ... the food is good and the service is delivering at record pace... I can't comment on much except the beef hotdogs and that's pretty much where I got stuck ... every single time they're delicious! My typical order is a chili slaw dog all the way with fries and a tea .... Someday maybe I'll be able to try something else but for now .. it's my go to favorite ! It's a Charlotte landmark and I love it. I've heard the Zacks special is fabulous... maybe someday I'll be able to try it ....
