I have to be honest, I've been here three times in the last two weeks! My three plates where outstanding, and so was my husbands. You have to realize that this is an old old establishment that could use some sprucing up, but get over it! The food is delish and the prices can not be beat on fresh seafood! I highly recommend the "sole gourmet "!We shared an appi, two main courses, and a bottle of wine under 95$! View all feedback.
What Aimée Georges doesn't like about Bonaventure Lodge & Motel Restaurant:
I enjoyed the food. A bit more variety in the seafood platter, would be good, most of the items were deep fried. It would be nice to have some choice in how your seafood is cooked - whether it be in parchment paper, broiled, pan-fried, etc. View all feedback.
The first time I was here was in 1965 - we stayed in the Bide-A-Wee cottage and there was no indoor plumbing back then! We used a chamber pot at night so we did not have to use the out-house! The cottage is much more comfy now but the most important things have not changed - the scenery, the salty air, the sound of the waves and the evening breezes (east wind) through the pines - the sunsets over the water - all still perfect! We were here in May and are going back soon. The staff are like family. The food is good and they serve the best breakfasts - ever!
Family gathering met with great food, friendly staff excellent ambiance and probably one of the greatest ocean views while dining in Atlantic Canada.
We went for supper at the Bonaventure Lodge. The food was fantastic, the reception was great. What a nice way to end the day. We came across the bay on boat from the Québec side. The only thing is that we couldn't stay later, but overall, a really nice dining experience. We will definitely go back next year.

Been going to the Bonaventure Lodge seems like forever. In fact, held our wedding reception there 47 years ago. Rustic, yes and that's part of the charm...The view of the Bay of Chaleurs worth a million. We are regulars at this place. Must admit the food quality had gone down in the past few years. However, dined there for our anniversary.on July 29.and WOW.....It was beyond awesome. Our daughter was with us and she went back a few nights later with her husband just home on holidays. He is a gourmet eater, and was blown over by the quality of the food. A hidden gem in this area. Everyone should have this wonderful experience at least once every summer. Already planning our next treat.
