What David Boyer doesn't like about Smoke On The Water:
Drunken French toast was great. The brisket hash was mediocre at best. In the past there were chunks of brisket mixed with the hash browns. This time there were very dry thin slices of brisket below the hash browns. Very disappointing. I did voice myconcerns with the wait person. View all feedback.

I don?t like to complain, but this was absolutely unacceptable. We arrived for lunch at 11:25, waiting 20 mins to be seated. That was understandable for a Saturday. But after being seated , we waited until 12:50 for our lunch. With ordering 2 omelettes, and a side of bacon and side of links for the kids, why in the world would it take over an hour for that food. Once the foodcame it was not even cooked completely. My daughters links were pink and not cooked as well. The Waiter apologized and removedthe omelette of the bill. But it was not worth the wait. Very disappointed.
Wow. This was the top rated restaurant in Charlevoix on Yelp. I arrived and GM got out of the car and the savory smokey air had me salivating. The staff was super friendly. Took my order. I asked for a burger medium rare. I followed up to be sure theycould do medium rare because some restaurants won?t because it?s technically not hot enough to serve. She said it was fine. Shebrought out a side of bbq sauce for me which was delicious! I ate the fries. Pretty crispy how good they were and how good thesauce was. It was! but still tasty.I complimented I took one bite of the burger and it crunches like a cookie. I thought it mayhave been a burnt fry or something so I took another bite. The inside was dark gray and the outside looked like blackenedchicken. It was probably about 5 minutes passed well done. No worries, stuff happens. I?d say it was busy but I was alone inthe restaurant at 1 in the afternoon. She came and asked how things were and I said the burger was burnt so bad, it wasinedible. She said ?oh! Sorry about that? and walked away. 2 minutes later she came with the check. I walked up front with thecheck and told her that I took 1 1/2 bites of it and it was inedible. Her response. ?Oh man, that terrible. Slide your card inright there,? referencing the card reader so I did. Again I said, I paying for a burger that I literally didn?t eat. She said?yeah.? And I saw someone else peak around the counter but didn?t come out. Then my cashier walked away into thekitchen. Wow! I went back inside and asked if I could take a photo for my review. She held out the plate for me and I grabbeda shot of the (really good) caramelized onions on top. Terrible. So terrible. I live on Beaver Island so this was my ONE mealthat I got to have off island. What a disappointment.

Asked for bacon, then received burnt bacon that snapped like bark. This wasn?t a big issue, we just asked to have it sent back and have regular bacon. We were told ?that?s just how we cook our bacon? so I reworded my request as, ?can I have more ?limp?bacon then?? We then received bacon that was Undercooked(most likely because the the kitchen wanted it out in a timely manner, but didn?t quite wait long enough for it to be safe for consumption . The server placed the bacon where it was hanging from theplate and the food was touching the table.. we figure she was probably in a rush, I understand mistakes happen. We decided toskip the bacon and eat the rest of our food(eggs and hash brown that were GREAT and made well!! . When she returned, we asked tohave the bacon taken off of our meal as we didn?t feel safe eating it and preferred to just not eat it at this point, and askedfor the bill. While I was still eating the eggs and hash browns on my plate, she then grabs the plate of bacon and places it ONTOP OF FOOD and takes our plates away saying, ?if you don?t want your bacon over cooked then specifically ask for ?not crispy?bacon next time.? And left.. maybe I?m crazy as is every breakfast restaurant I?ve been to/WORKED AT, but not specificallyasking for crispy bacon means you get regular bacon. The standard isn?t burnt? Will not return.
