Food excellent.....service excellent and some of the nicest staff I have met in Italy. The chef and his team made delicious food every day and catered well for people with dietary needs. Skiing for 7 or 8 weeks a year in various locations I can say that this is definetly one of the best restaurants I have used.
If by chance go to sansicario I highly recommend a stop at the restaurant gerla. friendly and friendly staff, excellent quality food and pizzas equally good.
With friends in Sansicario we ate some great pizzas and the famous mountain cake. very kind staff. to return.
This restaurant is perfectly located at the bottom of the pistes in Sansicario Alto. A perfect example of a restaurant that is placed so well that it can afford to offer an average meal, awful service and a relatively negative price vs quality relationship and still be packed. We ate there on 30th December, adults had two pizzas and my 9 years old son had a kids penne al ragu' ... Pizzas were undercooked and chewy, the pasta was ok...my son liked it... The staff are young and friendly, but extremely undertrained and clueless ... the young chef de salle (massive overstatement) is polite and corteous but has got no idea whatsoever on how to run a restaurant... He is the only person taking the orders, and then running the (non) service. It's unorganised chaos ... and this review is coming from someone who has worked in the industry for many years at important venues ... We had to queue for 20 minutes to pay the bill ... and it all seemed absolutely normal to the young manager ... Conveniently located, but a huge waste of business potential ... but surely friendly and welcoming. Shame about the service and the pizzas (don't know about the other dishes as we didn't try any)
