I finally found The Lost Cuban! I discovered this restaurant on Yelp and decided to visit for the hot dog. I was so impressed that I plan on coming back tomorrow for the ribs. I highly recommend this restaurant in Cedar Rapids. All the food is made from scratch, including the delicious sauces. Be sure to try both if you enjoy a little spice. View all feedback.
What Odie Brakus doesn't like about Lost Cuban The:
Maybe I was there an off night but I have no idea how this place is above 2 stars. Ordered a Bud Light and Cuban. Then 20 25 minutes later (nobody else had food orders) I asked to close out and cancel my order. They agreed. Got my check for $15+ , all I had was a Bud Light. They tried charging me for other drinks I didn 't order. They adjusted my bill and out of courtesy still gave me my Cuban it was burnt to a disgu... View all feedback.
I went to The Lost Cuban at 1:30 on Tuesday, which was definitely an off-peak time as there was only one other table of customers. I was promptly greeted, seated, and given a menu. Within a few minutes, my server returned and I ordered the Media Noche (Cuban sandwich) and a side of Platanos Maduros (fried plantains). The food arrived quickly (not surprising given the lack of customers) and the sandwich was perfectly hot and crispy. It had all the elements I love in a Cuban sandwich: succulent pulled pork, thinly sliced ham, tangy pickles, tangy mustard, and just enough cheese to hold it all together. The plantains came with two dipping sauces, one smoky and spicy, the other sweet with a hint of heat, both delicious and complemented the plantains well. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at The Lost Cuban. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. I look forward to trying other dishes in the future!

The restaurant has an unpredictable atmosphere but the food is excellent! I decided to try something different for lunch and I made the perfect choice. I ordered the hot Cuban sandwich on sweet bread and it exceeded my expectations. The meal comes with the sandwich, rice and beans, a drink, and two sauces - a sweet one and a very spicy one - all for around $11.
Very good food and friendly staff. Has made big suggestions and I was not disappointed.
Great sandwiches and the spicy sauce is great, I especially like the off menu Gitmo Chicken.
