This place was dripping in flavor and history. The food was amazing, and you really feel the connection to the GENERATIONS of folks who sat at this very same counter. The staff was welcoming and engaged with me. It really made my solo road trip stop memorable. You are missing a piece of burger history if you skip this place. What User doesn't like about Maid-rite Shop:
This restaurant is sort of a functioning museum. The Maid Rites are great and the staff is efficient. Portions are generous and prices are very competitive for comparable food. A spoon is provided with your delicious Maid Rites. Unfortunately I could not rate this location higher due to the cleanliness of the restaurant and the condition of the restaurant, although I still recommend stopping by to enjoy the food. Cold food, no pizzaburgers, tiny portions. I've been waiting on the hill since Penny left. Overpriced. I'm going to UNI now. Sad.
Home atmosphere, good food and service I was in Muscatine over 60 years ago and I will go on as long as I am able.
