Spiaggia Pubblica - Catania

Total mess and a shame to the city. For sure because of people but also there are no trash bins. Beach is covered in garbage. Getting here is very difficult as there are nearly no sidewalks.

Closest sandy beach in Catania. The beach is long and wide but only 20 30 meter wide is without rubbish. Water is turbid To get to the beach you can take a AMT buses (6 10 minute route) “D” line from Borsellinio or “L EX” (Librinio Express) from Stazione Centrale both 1.00 euro 90 minutes ticket. Watch out for guys who propose 10 euro al’a Uber trip from Stazione to beach

Worst beach I've ever been to. Just look at the photos! And I was in July, so season high up. Anyways, sand is dirty, trash everywhere, abandoned buildings everywhere, it was even scary to get here. Water is also dirty. Trash in the water. I thought I see a fish, nope, banana peel! I didn't swim. I was afraid I would get sick.

Most parts of the beach are really nice but there are also a few spots where there's a lot of trash. Even though the beach is located quite close to the harbor, the water is clean and good for a refreshment on a hot summer day. It's also nice to just take a walk along the beach and its many different parts.

What was no doubt once a beautiful beach is now infested with human waste from broken bottles to plastic toys. There’s not a squared 5 meter areas without some noticeable litter.
