Very affordable food and taste great! Service always seems pretty fast. Knudsen's is currently serving dine in (go to hostess stand located in the back counter) but if you just want ice cream or takeout, go to their ice cream counter, on the left, to order. All the ice cream flavors I tried earlier this week, very good rich and creamy. I ended up getting a blueberry cheesecake flavored ice cream small Sundae, but unfortunately their whipped cream dispensers were broken and wouldn't be fixed for another hour. Though I was a little bummed out by this, I decided to go ahead with my Sundae order without the whipped cream. They apparently make their fudge and caramel sauces in house so it was a nice accompaniment to the ice cream. Although without any whipped cream as a layer in between, the sauces hardened quickly against the cold ice cream. I also ordered the patty melt burger, which comes on rye bread with a side choice of regular fries, curly fries or small salad. I opted for the curly fries. Very filling meal overall and the servers and hostesses here seemed very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Will be back to try their crab melt sandwich (made with real crab) and other items on the menu and ice cream flavors.

It's a great place for kids, it's cleaner inside than the Board of Health, the food is awesome, the ice cream is hand made on site and INCREDIBLE, as are the chocolate confections. The staff is attentive and friendly, and there's ample off-street parking in back. It's a local icon, and for good reason!
