We have been here yesterday trying to find a completely different restaurant located nearby. So because we were hungry we choose to eat here despite the fact that we had no reference regarding it. It seems that it was a good decision. We have taken Paella Marisco and fried squids and everything was very tasty. We recommend it!
Bad food, waiters have no time for you. I had a very greasy entrecote and the desert was terrible: a really burned Creme Catalane. It even smelled like a burned forest...
We were staying in Castellon for one night at the NH Mindoro. The Eleazar is just in front of it. We did walk around a bit and really, there wasn 't anywhere else to eat, even though we were in the centre. But we are so pleased we went there. A great menu at amazing prices. Not the usual tapas, patatas bravas etc. I had the veal sirloin a massive steak with frites and accompanied with sauteed artichoke hearts a steal at 9€, my husband had a lovely veal escalope in breadcrumbs for 8€. The wine list is very extensive with many unusual Spanish wines to choose from between 7.5 and 12 euros. Much cheaper than other places we ate at on our trip along the coast. We went back for lunch the next day and the food was just as good; I would have loved to try the rabbit but a bit too heavy for me at lunch so I had a prawn omelette for 7€, accompanied by a delicious verdejo for 7€. Highly recommend this restaurant very 'real ' excellent service too. There are 4 restaurants linked to this in Castellon, sort of a local chain. All under the name of Meson Navarro I 'm sure they 'd all be good.
El bocadillo entero es grande. Buen almuerzo. Con sombra exterior en verano. Bien sitio para ir con perros...
